John Hess of Brewer has joined the staff of Downeast Mortgage Corp. in Bangor as a loan officer. A seven-year veteran in the mortgage industry, his territory covers Greater Bangor and Hancock County, including Mount Desert Island. Downeast, a full-service independent mortgage company with expertise in a wide range of government and private home financing options, opened its Bangor office last year.

Melanie Klein-Robbenhaar of Dedham has been promoted to independent branch adviser, the first level of sales field management at Longaberger Co. She previously held the position of independent sales associate with the company. Independent branch advisers draw from their business experience to provide direction and training for the independent sales associates they sponsor, helping establish and build their own Longaberger business.

Innovative Fitness, a personal training firm in Bangor, recently welcomed Jaime Call to its staff. Call, a certified personal trainer with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, will be responsible for overseeing the personal training staff in exercise kinesiology and physiology. She also is responsible for reviewing client programming, safety, and providing assistance to the president of the company.

Dr. Cindy Danchak, a chiropractor in Belfast for the last eight years, began practicing at the Belfast Center, Suite 213, on April 1. Danchak will continue her holistic approach, dealing with misalignment of the spine, working toward physical wholeness for each patient at Atlantic Bay Chiropractic. Katahdin Trust Co. has promoted Darren Murray of Hodgdon to commercial services officer at the bank’s Houlton location. Murray received a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Pensacola (Fla.) Christian College. He joined Katahdin Trust as a part-time summer employee in 1999 and has served in a variety of positions in the finance and operations departments. Prior to his recent promotion, he served as commercial services assistant at the Presque Isle office.
