Wendi Abbott has joined Dragon Cement and Concrete as the quarry manager at the company’s Thomaston plant. She will oversee the mining operations, including mine planning and scheduling, and oversee the crushing and stripping operations. Abbott has nine years of experience in the cement, copper and coal mining industries. She most recently served as quarry manager at an operation in Colorado. A Thomaston resident, Abbott is a 1994 graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla and a 2001 graduate of the Colorado School of Mines.

Bar Harbor Bankshares recently welcomed the following new employees to its staff:

Dennis Miller Sr. has accepted the position of senior vice president and risk manager. His responsibilities include internal audit functions, information security, risk management and security. Miller has more than 25 years of financial service experience, most recently with Unizan Bank in Zanesville, Ohio, where he was a senior vice president and audit director. Cheryl Mullen is the new vice president of retail banking. She is responsible for directing the bank’s retail sales and service plans. Having been in the banking business since 1972, Mullen most recently was employed by Coastal Bank in Houston. A resident of Surry, Mullen is a graduate of the Maine-New Hampshire School of Banking. Audrey Eaton has joined the bank as assistant vice president and branch relationship manager. She manages the bank’s Ellsworth branch, lending and business development. Eaton is a graduate of the Northern New England School of Banking and has 27 years of banking experience. The Machias office also gained a new customer service manager in Lisa Mallock-Ross. Her primary responsibilities are planning, organizing and directing the branch activities. Mallock-Ross received an associate degree from Northern Maine Vocational College and is a graduate of the Washington County Leadership Institute. Linda Celia Elliott of Gouldsboro has assumed the position of customer service manager for the Winter Harbor office. She is a graduate of Dean College and Northern New England School of Banking.
