BANGOR – The 2003 Bangor Garden Show was held April 11-13 at the Bangor Auditorium and Civic Center. Recipients of key show awards are as follows:

. Horticulture Landscape Scholarship Award – Emily Watson, University of Maine senior.

. Maine Landscape and Nursery Association Award – McGlinn’s Wee Garden of Brewer and Family Tree Landscape of Bangor for a co-sponsored exhibit.

. Gwethalyn M. Phillips Award – Stonescapes & Watergardens of Smithfield.

. People’s Choice Award – McGlinn’s Wee Garden of Brewer and Family Tree Landscape of Bangor.

. Educational Display – Maine Herb Society of Brooksville.

. Premiere Vendor Award – Maine Public Garden Consortium of South Paris.

. Outstanding Committee Volunteers – Jerry and Robbi Hughes of Bangor.

. Outstanding Show Volunteers – Thelma Andrews, Anne Marie Adams, Marilyn Burrill, Laurie Richards, Marilyn Soper and Ruby Faulkner.

. Rose Award for Service Excellence – Jeanne Savoy of Carmel.

. Business Partners Award – City of Bangor’s Public Works Department and the Bass Park Complex.

. Kids Grow, Too! Awards:

Pre-K – Brewer CDP.

Kindergarten – Garland Elementary School.

First Grade – Pendleton Street School, Brewer.

Second Grade – Pendleton Street School, Brewer.

Third Grade – Eddington Elementary School.

Multiple Grade winners:

K-3 – Down East School Garden Club, Bangor.

K-8 – Stillwater Montessori After School Environmental Club with the UM College of Education.
