Bates sweeps UMF
At Lewiston, the Bates Bobcats swept a pair of games from in-state rival UMaine-Farmington, 4-3 in the first and 6-4 in the second.
In the first game, Andrea Lichtman and Dayna Krakower each hit a run scoring double to spark Bates.
Carla Flaherty had an RBI single for the winners.
Andrea Benvenuti socked a two-run triple for the Beavers.
In the second game, Flaherty rocked an RBI triple to help the Bobcats earn the sweep.
Krakower doubled and drove in two runs for Bates.
Liz Seubert had a double and two RBIs for the Beavers.

Monks sweep Thomas
At Standish, the Monks of St. Joseph’s swept Thomas College of Waterville, winning the first game 5-4 and running away with the second 11-3.
In the first game, Jessie Dennis knocked a two-run single to spark St. Joseph’s in a three-run ninth.
Deborah Bain, Courtney Sirois and Sarah Ouellette each had a double for the winners.
Jen Lane socked a two-run double for the Terriers.
In the second game, Kristin Gaudette hit a two-run triple as the Monks scored six runs in the first two innings.
Kahler Dowling notched a two-run double for St. Joe’s. Bain and Sirois each had an RBI single.
Brindi Riley tallied an RBI double for Thomas and Jasmine Carey added a double.
