BANGOR – Lee Daniel pitched a five-hitter in the opener and a four-hitter in the second game Wednesday, leading the University of Maine-Presque to a sweep of a Sunrise Conference softball doubleheader against Husson College.
The Owls won the first game 11-1 and took the nightcap 4-1.
In the first game, Daniel allowed just one run on five hits for the Owls.
The Braves committed six errors, which led to all 11 UMPI runs. Amanda Harnish singled twice for the Owls.
Sara Agouab doubled for Husson.
In the second game, Daniel picked up her second win of the day, surrendering just one run on four hits.
She also helped her cause with two singles for the Owls.
Lesley Freese had two singles for Husson.

Thomas, UMF split
At Farmington, Thomas College and UMaine-Farmington split a Sunrise Conference doubleheader, with the Terriers winning the first game 7-2 and the Beavers taking the second 12-8.
In the first game, the Terriers scored all their runs in the last two innings, five in the sixth and two in the seventh to put the game away.
Heather Johnson tripled and drove in three runs for Thomas of Waterville. Joy Ireland surrendered just two runs on seven hits in getting the win.
Jen Lane had a double for the Beavers.
In the second game, the Beavers jumped out to a 5-0 lead only to have to Terriers fight their way back into it with a six-run fourth. UMF re-took the lead with a three-run fourth and scored four in the sixth.
Jasmine Carey tripled and knocked in three runs for UMaine-Farmington.
Courtney Corbett tripled for Thomas.

Colby splits with Bowdoin
At Waterville, NESCAC rivals Colby and Bowdoin split a twinbill, with the White Mules taking the first game 3-2 and the Polar Bears winning the second 2-1.
In the first game, Shannon Emerson snapped a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth with a double that plated Annette Caswell with the eventual game-winner.
Wendy Bonner doubled and singled and Caswell had two singles for the winners.
Danielle Chagnon had two singles for Bowdoin and Laura Perovich doubled.
In the second game, the Bears did most of their damage with two outs with Britney Carr and Caroline Quinn each singling and scoring in the second inning, giving Bowdoin all the runs it would need.
Kara Fagan stroked a double for the White Mules.

At Gorham, Tyler Delorme collected three hits, including a double, drove in two runs and scored two more, breaking the school RBI record held by Bob Prince. Delorme has 178 for his career.
The Huskies pulled away with a seven-run eighth. Brian Marshall led off with a triple, while Pat McDonough, Tip Fairchild and Delorme added a two-run double each.
Andy Ely and Jesse LaCasse doubled for the Monks of Standish.
