CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.- Eric McCue of South Portland and two other Marines recuperating from combat injuries at their home base have been honored with Purple Heart medals.
Brig. Gen. Mastin M. Robeson, acting commander of the 2nd Marine Division, presented the medals during a visit to the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune on Tuesday. Marines receiving the medals were:
. Sgt. John Dale, 27, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., assigned of 2nd Tank Battalion.
. Cpl. Joseph McMahon, 29, of West Palm Beach, Fla., assigned to 2nd Tank Battalion.
. Cpl. Eric McCue, 21 of South Portland, assigned to 3rd Battalion 2nd Marine Regiment.
