WINTERPORT – State Sen. Carol Weston, R-Waldo County, and state Rep. Jeff Kaelin, R-Winterport, recently honored two Eagle Scouts at the State House.

On March 12, the Maine State Legislature recognized Ryan Goodman and Ryan Brinz of Winterport and members of Boy Scout Troop 234 for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Weston and Kaelin jointly sponsored for the boys Legislative Sentiments, which are given in honor of individuals who have accomplished extraordinary deeds.

Goodman’s Eagle Scout project was to restore and beautify a flagpole area and to make improvements to Abbott Park in Winterport. He is a student at Hampden Academy.

Weston is beginning her first term in the Maine Senate after serving four years in the House of Representatives. She represents District 11, which includes Waldo County and the town of Appleton in Knox County. Kaelin is serving his first term in the House representing District 107, which includes the towns of Brooks, Frankfort, Jackson, Monroe, Prospect, Stockton Springs and Winterport.
