OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Police are searching for a fugitive charged in connection with the December rape of a 14-year-old Gorham girl.
Okey Chukwurah, 58, of Albuquerque, N.M., was indicted last week on felony charges of gross sexual assault and sexual abuse of a minor.
Previously arrested and charged with rape in the case were Kingsley Nwaturocha, 43, of Newark, Del., and Dan Eneagu, 38, also of Albuquerque.
Authorities allege that the girl was abducted by two men while shopping with her stepmother at Marshall’s in South Portland, then driven to a motel in Old Orchard Beach. Police and family have described her as having the mental capacity of a 7-year-old.
South Portland police found no connection between the three men charged with rape and the two men who drove the girl to Old Orchard Beach. Their names have not been released.
All three men charged with rape were working for Cianbro Corp. on oil rigs in Portland when the incident allegedly occurred.
