HARRINGTON – Linny Barbee drove in two runs with a single in the second inning and the defending Class C state champion Narraguagus Knights defeated the Woodland Dragons 3-1 in schoolgirl softball action Friay.
Mary Eva Tenan had a pair of singles for Narraguagus.
Megan Lord singled twice and Kelsy Snowman had a single and an RBI for the Dragons.

At Mount Desert, six MDI errors led to a GSA six-run sixth inning as the Eagles beat the Trojans.
Caleigh Keevan had a pair of singles while Liz Tyler singled and drove in a run and Kate Bridges picked up an RBI for George Stevens.
Caroline Woodworth singled twice and Becca Goff drove in a run with a single for Mount Desert Island.

At East Sullivan, Miranda Norwood doubled and hit two singles to help Mattanawcook to the win.

At Mount Desert, Chris Sargent pitched six innings to give up only four hits and no runs while striking out 11 for George Stevens.
Chris Candage hit a double and three singles with two RBIs for the Eagles of Blue Hill and Mike Astbury had a pair of singles with a RBI.
Jon Dow hit two singles for the Trojans.

At Harrington, Corey Skeate’s three-run, inside-the-park homer highlighted a seven-run first inning that carried the Knights.
Skeate also had a sacrifice fly, Jamie Bailey added a two-run double, and Cory Worcester posted two singles and an RBI and scored twice. Gabe Checker struck out nine while walking only four to pick up the win.
Josh Engrott rapped a double and single for Woodland, and Jeremy Gillespie doubled.

At Pittsfield, Maine Central Institute walked in Ben Dole with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth to win it for Rockland.
Mike Curtis pitched nine innings, giving up only five hits and two walks while striking out 15 for Rockland. Wes Drinkwater hit a pair of singles with an RBI.
Ryan Kennedy doubled with an RBI for Maine Central Institute.

Andrew Kites had three singles and drove in two runs, Tyler Libby, Andy McLellan and Nathan Cousineau all doubled, singled and drove in runs while Brian Dupis had two singles and two RBI. Tyler Gardner and Matt Malone had a pair of singles and drove in a run for Mattanawcook of Lincoln.

At Readfield, Marc McCorrison and Kenon Spaulding scored on a Black Bears error in the top of the seventh inning as the Mustangs got by defending Class B state champion Maranacook.
McCorrison singled twice and drove in a run while Clifford Gardiner doubled and singled for Mount View of Thorndike.
Jim Palmer had a pair of singles for Maranacook.
