BUCKSPORT – Josh Jackson crushed a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to provide more than enough offense for Bucksport as the Golden Bucks blanked Ellsworth 4-0 in baseball action Saturday.
Phil Harvey tossed a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts for the Golden Bucks. Jake Knight contributed two singles, a double and an RBI.
Garrett Hardison, Asa Jones, Matt Wood and Travis Jordan had a single each for Ellsworth.

At Bucksport, Nikki Smith pitched a three-hitter for the Golden Bucks, striking out eight batters and issuing no walks.
Tara Tweedie led the Bucksport offense with a single and a triple for four RBIs while Elissa Gordon sent home three runners with two singles and a double. Jessica Taylor helped out with two singles.
Tessa Miller and Tess Bickford each had singles for Ellsworth.

At East Machias, Washington Academy scored 15 runs in the first inning to put the game away early.
Stef Almendinger hit three singles for two RBIs while Daphne Nichols had two doubles and two RBIs. Mary Mawhinney sent home two runners with a double and a single.
Paula Osnoe hit two singles for the Vikings of Danforth while Chantel Parker had a double.
