PORTLAND, Maine – A 14-year-old girl from Cape Elizabeth was the top female finisher Monday in the 74th Portland Boys and Girls Club 5-Mile road race.

Elise Moody-Roberts ran the course in 32 minutes, 4 seconds, while Ethan Hemphill, 30, defended his victory in last year’s race by finishing in 25:44.

The male runner-up, Todd Coffin, was 47 seconds behind, at 26:31. Douglass Pelletier finished third at 27:15.

Moody-Roberts edged 42-year-old Kate Meyers by 16 seconds, while Tiki Humphries finished third at 32:46.

Organizers said 449 runners participated in the Patriot’s Day event, which was run in sunny, cool conditions.
