Faulkingham, Lions triumph; MA tips Pirates

BELFAST – Nick Faulkingham pitched a three-hit shutout, striking out 10 and walking only three, to lead the Belfast High School Lions to a 7-0 victory over Lincoln Academy of Newcastle Monday.

Jesse Johnson hit a two-run homer and a single while John Ellis started the scoring with a two-run home run in the first. Marcus Colby and Paul Hermon added a solo home run apiece while Matt Welch tripled.

Joe Clark was the only repeat hitter for Lincoln Academy with two singles while Kyle Seiders chipped in with a base hit.

At Waldoboro, A.J. Preble drove in two runs with a double and a single and Nate Goff hit a solo homer in the fifth to help power the Indians past the Panthers.

Carlos Arteaga slammed two solo homers and a double for Medomak. Sam Adolphson doubled, singled and drove in a run.

At East Sullivan, Matt Leino drove in four runs with a double and two singles as the Minutemen picked up the win.

Dave Michaud hit a two-run single and Matt Wark added two singles for Stearns of Millinocket.

Dylan Johnson, A.J. Pennartz and Jeremy Scully each singled for the Tigers.

At Rockland, Adam Ross fired a five-hit complete game, striking out 12 and walking two, as the Tigers triumphed.

Wade Oliver doubled and singled for Rockland.

Brady Butler led Camden Hills with a double and a single while Casey Cates added a double.

At Guilford, Matt Malone pitched a complete-game shutout, fanning 10 and walking two, to help Mattanawcook of Lincoln to the win.

Dustin Hanscom had an RBI single for the Lynx while Tom Lasko drove in the other run. Brian Dupuis, Tyler Gardner and Tyler Libbey each had singles.

Josh Luellen, Tyler Tracey, Mike Burnett, Dan Macomber and Josh Patterson singled for Piscataquis of Guilford.

At Bangor, Nate Dow had two singles and three RBIs to spark Lee Academy.

Gerry Worster hit a two-run double for the Pandas while Zac Currie chipped in with two singles.

David Chrisos hit two singles and had an RBI while Anthony Cole added an RBI single for Bangor Christian.

At Bangor, Jessie Kuester singled, stole second, and came home on an error in the top of the seventh to lift the Pandas past the Patriots.

Kuester finished with two singles. Lee’s Marci Moors had a triple and two singles good for two RBIs.

Danielle Miller hit two singles and a double for Bangor Christian. Monique Veilleux singled twice and drove in two runs. Kara Hartman fanned 15 and walked one.

At Belfast, senior right-hander Morgan Crandall threw her fifth career no-hitter, striking out 12 and walking three over five innings, as Belfast triumphed.

Kate Ross had two singles and three RBIS while Crandall and Lauren Overlock contributed two hits and two RBIs apiece.

At East Sullivan, Jordan Lagassey walloped a three-run homer in the top of the fifth to give Stearns the lead and propel them to the win.

Casey Popp added two singles for the Minutemen while Holly Frank had three singles and an RBI.

Jessie Day hit a single and a triple for Sumner while Janay Tucker contributed with two singles.

Jennie Getchell and Kristen Roy each hit an RBI single for Piscataquis of Guilford while Charlie Bradford chipped in with a double.
