Joy Ireland

Joy Ireland, a freshman on the Thomas College softball team, has been named the Webber Energy Sunrise Conference pitcher of the week. Ireland won five of six decisions in the week and had 39 strikeouts.

Scott Brawn

Scott Brawn of Thomas College has been selected as the Webber energy player of the week. Brawn, a sophomore catcher, had 19 hits for a .655 batting average. He also drove in 15 runs and hit three homers during the week.

Sara Hughes

Sarah Hughes, a sophomore at Colby College has been named a New England Small College Athletic Conference co-player of the year in women’s tennis. Hughes, who shares the title with Stephanie Hall of Williams, leads Colby with an overall record of 32-13 and progressed to the semifinals of first singles and first doubles in the NESCAC tournament.
