TURKU, Finland – Kimmo Rintanen and Teemu Selanne scored third-period goals as Finland beat the United States 4-2 Wednesday in an exhibition for the World Hockey Championships.
Rintanen broke a 2-2 tie at 11:39 and Selanne finished the scoring with a power-play goal five minutes later on an assist from Saku Koivu, the Montreal Canadiens’ captain who played in his native Turku for the first time since a World Cup of Hockey exhibition in 1996.
The Americans rallied from a 2-0 deficit on a power-play goal by San Jose rookie and former UMaine standout Niko Dimitrakos late in the second period and an early third-period tally by Kevin Miller, another forward who plays for Davos in Switzerland.
