HAMPDEN – The grand opening for the new Bordick Park will be held Saturday as part of Hampden Academy’s 1 p.m. home baseball game against Old Town. The elder Mike Bordick will umpire the inaugural game on the field, which was financed in great part by major leaguer and Hampden Academy graduate Mike Bordick, who now plays for the Toronto Blue Jays, and local contractor Herb Sargent.

HA also will raffle off Bordick memorabilia, including balls, bats and photographs.
