Dr. William K. Sullivan, vice president for medical affairs and chief clinical officer at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor since 1995, has been appointed deputy chief medical officer for the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in Washington. Sullivan will serve as an adviser to the agency’s administrator and chief medical officer as well as take a leadership role in the review and implementation of all quality, clinical and medical science issues and policies that arise in administering the centers’ programs. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the University of Missouri Medical School.
