Dyson, Foye power Bates to softball sweep of Saint Joseph’s

LEWISTON – Cami Dyson went 5-for-7 and Erin Foye 5-for-8 Tuesday to help lead Bates College to 6-4 and 7-0 softball victories over Saint Joseph’s College of Windham.

In the first game, Foye’s two-run single provided the winning and insurance run. She and Dyson combined for five hits and two RBIs.

Deborah Bain went 5-for-5 with a double and two RBIs for the Monks.

In the second game, Krissie Whiting had a double, two singles, two stolen bases and an RBI. She also threw a two-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk to lead the Bobcats.

Foye had two singles and a home run for three RBIs. Brooke Tardiff had two singles and an RBI.

For the Monks, Darcy Lee and Kahler Dowling each singled for the only hits.

At Gorham, Meghan McLoughlin pitched a no-hitter to give Keene State College its 21st win of the season.

Abby Blanchette hit a two-run homer in the second inning for Owls. Abby Collis doubled and singled.
