MILLINOCKET – Katie Jones tossed a no-hitter, striking out 10 and walking only three as the Stearns Minutemen downed rival Schenck 6-1 in high school softball action Wednesday.

Leslie Osborne and Dana Somers contributed two singles apiece for Stearns. Jordan Legassey collected a triple, single, and knocked in a run while Holly Franck racked up two singles, a double, and an RBI.

Hermon 18, Dexter 14

At Dexter, Cassie White’s two-run double keyed a 10-run sixth-inning rally that erased a 9-8 deficit.

White finished with three singles to go with her double and she drove in three runs. Morgan Burr had a pair of doubles and an RBI while Lauren Fournier and Rachel Nightingale had two singles apiece.

Cindy Koscielny had two doubles and a single for previously undefeated Dexter and drove in three runs. Sarah Wyman had two doubles while Ashley Foster and Brittany Veazie each had a double.

Presque Isle sweeps Nokomis

At Newport, Katie Delong tripled, doubled, and knocked in a run to lead Presque Isle to the 15-10 win in the first game.

The Wildcats won the second game 15-5.

In the first game, Dani Dyer hit a double and a single with a RBI for Presque Isle and Marigan Bishop doubled.

Danielle Clark tripled, doubled, and singled with four RBIs for Nokomis and Darcy Hopkins hit a single with two RBIs.

In the second game, Dyer hit a double and two singles with a RBI for the Wildcats. Lauren Wilderman had a RBI double and Dani Grenier hit a two-run single.

Lindsey Welch tripled for the Warriors. Michelle Murray, Alyssa Bragdon, and Nikki Tuttle each hit a RBI single.

At Corinth, Jenny Rollins cranked a grand slam to kick off a nine-run third inning barrage for the Red Devils.

Rollins also had two singles for Central. Shawna Bell tossed a one-hitter with six strikeouts and three walks, and helped her cause with a double, triple and RBI. Renee Trafton added two singles and an RBI.

Tedi-Ann Galuski singled for the Pirates of Guilford.

At Dover-Foxcroft, right-hander Michelle Benoit tossed a one-hitter over five innings, striking out seven and walking one, and batterymate Amie Thomas knocked in three runs with a pair of singles.

Whitney Dwyer had an RBI single and Kaeley Spinney also singled for Orono.

Leigh Cartwright’s single with one out in the fifth broke up Benoit’s no-hit bid.

At Howland, Jesse Kuester hit a three-run homer, three singles, and a double with 10 RBIs to lead Lee Academy to its fifth straight win.

Brittany Mallett and Samantha Cole each hit a double and a single with a RBI for Lee and Michaela Ham had a pair of singles.

Nancy Hallett hit a triple, double, and two singles with a RBI for Penobscot Valley. Randy Rackley had two singles with a RBI and Tiffany Brown had a single and a double.

At Thorndike, Pat Duchette racked up three singles and knocked in a pair of runs to power the Raiders of Sabattus.

Adam Lebee had two singles plus an RBI for Oak Hill. Nate Eaton and Adam Sheffsell provided two singles each.

Marc McCorrison doubled, singled and drove in a run to lead the Mustangs. Kenton Spaulding added two singles.

At Pittsfield, Jake Lasselle scored what proved to be the game-winner on a wild pitch after he had tied the game on an RBI triple during a four-run sixth inning for the Huskies.

Andrew DeBethune got things going with a two-run double. Jason Hall doubled, singled and knocked in a run. Ryan Kennedy had two singles.

Ian Doherty slammed a two-run homer for Camden Hills.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Matt Carey pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts and five walks.

Danny White doubled and drove in two runs for Foxcroft and Brandon Croan laced an RBI double. Carey doubled in a run while Josh Withee had two singles plus an RBI. Caleb Pelletier added two singles.

Jeff Miller singled for the Red Riots.

At Dexter, Adam Russell pitched a two-hitter and aided his own cause with three singles, a double and two RBIs.

Russell walked only one in six innings and was backed by Eric Day, Mark Pullen and Chris Rabideau, who each had RBI singles.

Brett Danforth had an RBI single for Hermon.

At Millinocket, three different pitchers combined on a two-hitter as the Minutemen downed the rival Wolverines.

Stearns got off to a fast start with a six-run first, keyed by a two-run double by Dave Michaud. Matt Barnett laced an RBI double, and Anthony Arsenault hit an RBI single. Ryan Bouchard and Matt Work added a double each.

Aaron Waite and Drew Fayle notched a single each to lead Schenck of East Millinocket.

At Howland, Brody Artes broke a 3-3 deadlock in the bottom of the sixth by plating Nick Ware with an RBI single. Cody Thompson drove in Ware to give the Howlers some insurance.

Ware also tossed a one-hitter for Penobscot Valley, striking out five.

Nate Dow scattered only four hits and fanned eight for the Pandas. He also helped his cause with a two-run single.

Nokomis, Presque Isle split

At Newport, Ben Davis scored the game-winning run in the sixth inning on a Presque Isle error to take a 3-2 victory in the first game of a doubleheader.

Presque Isle won the seocnd game 7-2.

In the first game, Justin Nichols hit a pair of singles for Nokomis. Seth Bradstreet added an RBI single and Alex Sawyer hit a game-tying sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

Matt Carvelle doubled for Presque Isle and Chris Parson and Cole Putnam each hit an RBI single.

In the second game, Parsons hit three singles and knocked in a run for the Wildcats. Kyle Gagnon had a RBI double and Matt Carvelle had a run-scoring single.

Josh Vile had three singles for the Warriors and Jody Mullis and Tyler MacKenzie each doubled.
