A longtime supporter of Bangor East Little League will be honored Saturday morning when league officials introduce the David Bower Cup, which will be awarded to last year’s league tournament winners and to future tourney champions.
Bower died of cancer in February 2002 at age 54. He was heavily involved in Bangor East LL projects including the renovation of Taylor Field.
The ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Taylor Field. Federal district court judge-appointee John Woodcock will speak during the ceremony.
The opening game of the Bangor East Little League season will follow with the first ball being thrown out by Bower’s widow, Carolyn.
