LITTLETON – A local man was killed late Wednesday in a farming accident at his home on Bartlett Road off U.S. Route 1.
Kevin Conlogue, 31, was using an older-style front-end loader to put rolled bales of hay over a fence when the accident occurred, according to Sgt. Hugh Turner of the Maine State Police. Turner said the loader bucket’s boom arms were attached at the back of the unit behind the cab and had to pass by the cab as they were raised and lowered. Conlogue had used the loader to lift the hay bale and then he apparently leaned out of the right side of the unit. The boom accidentally lowered and crushed Conlogue.
