BELFAST – Belfast Trails will hold a spring nature walk on a new trail along the lower Little River reservoir at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 10.
The trail traverses Belfast Water District property, through tall oaks and pines. The parcel is a link in Belfast’s “Emerald Necklace.”
There should be a number of warblers and other migrating birds in the area on the day of the walk. Seth Benz will be along to help identify the birds. Molly Schauffler will point out distinctive plants and early wildflowers.
Those wishing to join in the walk should gather at the parking area behind the Belfast Water District office, on Route 1 next to the Little River.
Rain date is May 11. For information, call Murray Carpenter at 338-2385.
