Smith lifts Ashland to victory Webster, Seekins lead Searsport; Hussey no-hits Nokomis

HODGDON – Amber Smith’s run-scoring single broke an 8-8 tie in a four-run, seventh-inning rally that enabled Ashland to overcome a two-run deficit en route to a 10-8 high school softball win over Hodgdon Wednesday.

Smith had two doubles to go with her single and she drove in two runs. Ashley Nemer contributed a triple and two singles and Pam Bennett tripled and doubled.

Erin Foster’s two-run triple and Shannelle Dwyer’s run-scoring double paced Hodgdon.

At Milo, the Vikings capitalized on walks and hit batsmen to defeat the Patriots.

TaraLee Webster and Lindsey Seekins hit a single apiece for Searsport.

Mindy Dyer had two singles and an RBI for Penquis. Arielle Sickler added an RBI double.

At Old Town, sophomore Monica Hussey no-hit the Warriors of Newport, striking out 12, giving up one unearned run and walking six, to lead the Indians.

Liz Saucier led Old Town with two singles and two RBIs. Alicia Day and Mary Wollstadt each recorded an RBI single and Renee Thibodeau singled twice.

Michelle Barden scored a run for Nokomis when she reached on an error, advanced to third on an error, and scored on a wild pitch.

At Jonesport Wednesday, Naomi Chandler allowed two hits in five innings and contributed with a triple, two singles, and four RBIs.

Monique Emerson led Jonesport-Beals with a triple, double, single, and nine RBIs. Sara Hunkler hit three singles.

Ryanne Flannery and Chantel Parker each singled for the Vikings of Danforth.

At Jonesport Thursday, the Royalettes took advantage of 17 walks to earn the win.

Sarah Beal led Jonesport-Beals with two singles and a double for four RBIs while Sara Hunkler sent home four runners on two singles.

Monique St. Pierre singled for the Bulldogs.

At Thomaston, Shawn Hiller had two singles for Georges Valley while Matt Judkins added two hits and two runs scored.

Randy Maloney and Jimmy Sturcks had a hit and a run apiece for the Buccaneers.

Boothbay’s Max Arsenault singled twice. Mike Norton contributed with two singles and two stolen bases.

At Milo, Jim Dakin scattered six hits, struck out 10 and walked three, and smacked a grand slam to power the Vikings past the Patriots.

The game was called after six innings because of weather.

Searsport’s Andy Nickerson chipped in with two singles.

Brett Gerrish singled twice and drove in two runs for Penquis and Jordan Allen hit a two-run double.

At Old Town, Jody Mullis hit a single and a double to help lead Nokomis to the win.

Justin Nichols, Seth Bradstreet and Ben Davis contributed with two singles apiece for the Warriors of Newport.

Kyle Dupuis had two singles for the Indians while Kevin Emerson chipped in with a double.

At Pittsfield Wednesday, Josh Lasselle scored what proved to be the game-winning run on a wild pitch after he had tied the game on an RBI triple during a four-run sixth inning for the Huskies.

Andrew DeBethune got things going with a two-run double. Jason Hall doubled, singled and knocked in a run. Ryan Kennedy had two singles.

Ian Doherty hit a two-run homer for the Windjammers.
