Take a trip down Route 46 and stop by the yard and bake sale 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Duck Cove Community Club of Bucksport. The event benefits the historic “Little Yellow Schoolhouse” built in 1894, the only remaining one-room schoolhouse in Bucksport that is in its original condition and on the National Register of Historic Places, according to Phyllis Wardwell.
The community clubraises money to maintain the building that was used until 1944, Wardwell said. “This year, the club is in need of finances for much needed repairs” to windows and the chimney.
Donations, she emphasized, “are always welcome, as well as visitors.”

To help support this project, the church is holding its third annual spaghetti supper beginning at 5 p.m. (with a final seating at 5:45 p.m.) at the church, 1520 Union St., Bangor.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and a maximum $17 for immediate family members. The event also includes a silent auction.

Laura Hoovler of the United Way of Eastern Maine reminds residents the program’s fourth annual citywide cleanup begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, and concludes with a free barbecue at 11 a.m. at Stillwater Park on Howard Street in Bangor.
The event is for all Camp Bangor scholarship recipients, their families and members of the public.
