Abar helps lead Washburn past Wisdom

ST. AGATHA – Jamie Abar tripled, singled and knocked in two runs Friday to lead Washburn to a 16-9 schoolgirl softball victory over Wisdom.

Tiffany Carter hit a double with two RBIs for the Beavers and Kari Howe had two singles.

Kristen Marquis had three singles for the Pioneers and Michelle Bourgoin hit a double and two singles.

At Jonesport, the Royalettes combined 18 walks with 19 hits to cruise past the Knights.

Monique Emerson had a triple, three singles and six runs batted in, Sara Hunkler tripled, singled three times and drove in three runs and Naomi Chandler had three singles and five RBIs for Jonesport-Beals.

Chandler scattered four hits for the Royalettes.

Kiki Simmons doubled and drove in two runs and Mary Eva Tenan had a double for Narraguagus of Harrington.

At St. Agatha, the Beavers took advantage of 18 walks in rolling past the Pioneers.

Sam Harris drove in two runs with a double for Washburn.

Jason Bouchard had a two-run double for Wisdom.

At Jonesport, Joe Leighton doubled and singled with an RBI to help lead Narraguagus to its fourth win.

Kyle Kennedy had three singles for the Knights of Harrington and Cory Worcester hit two singles with a RBI.

Martin Alley and Derrick Beal each had three singles with a RBI for Jonesport-Beals and Matt Merchant hit an RBI double.

At Milo Wednesday, Nick Dakin scattered six hits, struck out 10 and walked three, and smacked a grand slam to power the Vikings past the Patriots.

The game was called after six innings because of weather.

Searsport’s Matt Nickerson chipped in with two singles.

Brett Gerrish singled twice and drove in two runs for Penquis and Jordan Allen hit a two-run double.
