NORWICH, Conn. – Tim Kester scattered seven hits in a complete-game win as the Portland Sea Dogs beat the Norwich Navigators 7-1 in the Eastern League Monday night.
Kester (2-1) struck out four and walked two.
Raul Nieves had four hits and scored two runs for the Sea Dogs (13-10). Tonayne Brown had two hits, including a two-run single in the seventh inning, when Portland broke the game open with five runs. Jeremy Owens added two hits, including a two-run double in the seventh.
Boof Bonser (1-3) took the loss, allowing two runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Adam Shabala had two hits, including a solo home run in the first inning, for Norwich (13-15).
