HERMON – The Penobscot Valley Stargazers will hold a public star party and telescope viewing of the total eclipse of the moon at 9 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Hermon Elementary School. The event will include telescope views of star clusters, planets and the full moon. The lunar eclipse will begin at 10:03 p.m.

During the eclipse star party, the PVSG club telescopes will focus on dimmer objects including galaxies that usually are not viewable in the bright sky of a full-moon evening.

The Penobscot Valley Stargazers gather monthly to share their appreciation of the sky. It is a public club with members from throughout Greater Bangor. Visitors and new members are welcome at the group’s meetings at John Bapst Memorial High School on Broadway in Bangor the second Monday of each month.
