Corn reborn

There’s nothing like the first ear of corn of the season, but after a while the corn-butter-salt combo can get a bit mundane. To combat corn-on-the-cob boredom, the Fresh Supersweet Corn Council has amassed a bunch of recipes, including the pictured Grilled Corn with Hotlips Chili Butter by Diane Morgan, author of “Dressed to Grill.” To make, preheat outdoor grill or broiler. Combine 1/4 cup softened butter, 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon sugar and a pinch of ground red pepper. Brush corn lightly with mixture and grill, turning occasionally, until some kernels turn golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from heat and brush with remaining chili butter.
