Big School (Classes A-B)

CHAD GOMM

Gomm, a senior on the Brewer baseball team, fired a three-hitter and struck out 15 in the Witches 4-1 win over Nokomis on Saturday. Gomm walked one and the Nokomis run was unearned.

Small School (Classes C-D)

SPENCER GARTON

A junior on the Searsport baseball team, Garton tossed a no-hitter, struck out seven and allowed three walks in the Vikings 10-4 win over Deer Isle-Stonington on Saturday. Garton didn’t allow an earned run. He also had three singles and scored two runs.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

MACKENZIE RAWCLIFFE

The Hampden Academy senior won four events at an outdoor track and field meet May 9. Rawcliffe was first in the long jump, triple jump, and 100 and 300 hurdles as the Broncos earned a team win.

Small School (Classes C-D)

CAROLE PERRY

Perry, a senior on the Narraguagus of Harrington track and field team, won the 100 and 200 dashes and was fourth in the 400 and the anchor on the third-place 1,600 relay team in a May 9 meet. Perry won the 100 and was second in the 200 in a meet on May 7.
