ASHLAND – Honor parts for the Class of 2003 have been announced by Ashland Community High School. Commencement exercises will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 6, in the Bobby Goding Memorial Gymnasium.
Robin Kimberly Caron, daughter of Linda and Roland Caron of Portage, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2003. She will attend St. Joseph’s College to study biology and chemistry and intends to pursue a career in medicine.
She has served as president of National Honor Society and vice president of Future Farmers of America; has attended Girls State, Model State Legislature and the U.S. Space Academy; served in AmeriCorps and on the parish council at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She also has been active in youth ministry, taught religious education, been a D.A.R.E. role model and participated in soccer and basketball. She is a recipient of the Maine Principals’ Association Award and the Bausch & Lomb Award.
Stephanie Bowring, daughter of Kim and Steve Bowring of Ashland, has been named salutatorian of the Class of 2003. She will attend the University of Maine to study animal and veterinary science. She intends to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
She has participated in band, the cross-country ski team, soccer, Girl Scouts of America and the Northern Lights Youth Choir, and she is a member of National Honor Society.
