BLUE HILL – Winning pitcher Arshwin Asjes scored the game-winning run from second base on a overthrow to first in the top of the eighth inning as Mount Desert Island upended George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill 5-4 after squandering a 4-0 lead.

Asjes allowed four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out 11. He also hit a two-run homer in the first inning. Jake Willis had two singles with two RBIs.

Adam Cousins hit two singles and had two RBIs for George Stevens Academy and Mark Clapp singled with two RBIs.

At Thorndike, Mark McCorrison had two singles and two RBIs to help lead Mount View to the win.

At Guilford, Dan Macomber’s two-run double and an error on the play produced three runs as Piscataquis Community High School of Guilford built a 7-3 lead and withstood a seventh-inning rally to avenge a loss to the Tigers earlier this season.

PCHS erased a 3-0 deficit with four runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead for good on Josh Luellen’s two-run single and RBI singles from Darin Speck and Mike Burnett.

Tyler Tracy doubled and singled for Piscataquis with Luellen and winning pitcher Speck contributing two singles apiece.

Adam Russell had three singles and an RBI for Dexter and Chris Rabideau had an RBI single while also pitching four-plus innings of shutout relief.

At Eastport, the Tigers took advantage of Woodland errors to score 12 runs in the second and third innings.

Wes Ellington led Shead with two singles and two RBIs, and James Macdonald added an RBI double.

Aaron Moody topped the Dragons with two doubles and an RBI.

At Harrington, Cory Worcester gave up only two earned runs, six hits, and two walks while striking out eight for Narraguagus.

Gabe Checker hit two singles and a double with four RBIs for Narraguagus and Joe Leighton hit two doubles and a single with two RBIs. Worcester hit a pair of singles with a double and Owen Fickett hit the game ending RBI single in the seventh.

Russ McLean and Nick Seelye each hit two singles with a RBI for Calais.

At East Millinocket, Craig Cullen and Matt Barnett combined on a five-inning no-hitter, striking out six and walking three, and Anthony Arsenault knocked in four runs with a double and a single.

At Cameron Stadium in Bangor, Josh Heath tripled, doubles and singled and pitched a two-hitter, striking out eight and not walking anybody.

His brother, Jordan Heath, added a double and a single for Bangor while Steve Fergerson and Mike Prentiss helped out with two singles apiece.

Chris Pease had a double for Hampden.

At Corinth, Colby Brown allowed six hits, issued one walk, and notched 10 strikeouts to lead the Central Red Devils.

Brown also led Central at the plate with a double, two singles, and an RBI. Joey Kane’s two-out triple scored two runs in – the first of which was the winning run – in the fifth. James Gray had a double and single while Brian Parker had two singles and an RBI.

Dave Chrisos led the Patriots with two singles and an RB I.

At Eastport, Alicia Vose hit a pair of singles and drove in two runs to help Woodland to the win.

Kelsey Snowman hit a RBI single and scored two runs for Woodland and Brittany Seeley had two RBIs.

Samantha Davis hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning and had a double with five total RBIs for Shead. Brittany Lingley tripled, doubled, and singled.

At Blue Hill, Liz Tyler had two singles, including an RBI to send home what would be the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Brandi Winters hit a triple and scored the game-winner while Christy Moon added two-run double.

Jess Norwood hit a single and a triple to help lead the George Stevens Academy effort while Jamie Daugherty added a home run. Stephanie Schuster chipped in with a two-run triple while Bracey Barker had an RBI double.

At Searsport, Lindsey Seekins scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a suicide squeeze by Tara Lee Webster to give Searsport the win.

Webster threw eight strikeouts through four innings on the mound for Searsport. Teresa Cameron hit two doubles with two RBIs. Megan Brassbridge had two doubles and a single and Sarah Cook hit a pair of singles with a RBI.

Lauren Robinson had two singles and scored four runs for Sumner. Jackie Danico hit a RBI single and Rachel Robinson singled.

At Guilford, Sarah Carnes hurled a four-hitter, striking out 11 and not walking anybody, and Amanda Pullen drove in four runs with a triple and three singles to pace a 22-hit attack.

Brittany Veazie had four singles and an RBI for Dexter, Carnes knocked in three runs with a triple and two singles and Nikki Chapman doubled twice and delivered three runs.

Tedianne Guleski tripled and singled for Piscataquis of Guilford.

Houlton sweeps Fort Kent

At Houlton, Natasha Ritchie hit five singles with five RBIs in the second game to help Houlton win 23-12. Houlton took the first game 3-2.

In the first game, Ritchie gave up no earned runs, two hits, and four walks while striking out 12 for Houlton. Anna Lenentine hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Vallerie Lenentine hit two singles and Rebecca Skehan tripled.

Nicole Saucier and Melissa Morneault both singled for Fort Kent.

In the second game, Anna Lenentine had three singles and a double with three RBIs for Houlton. Aimee Guy hit a pair of singles with three RBIs and Kasey Cleary had three singles.

Mindy Morneault hit a grand slam in the first inning for Fort Kent. Ashley Desjardins and Jessica Nadeau both hit two singles with two RBIs.
