MOUNT DESERT – Principal Robert Liebow has announced the honor parts for the 35th commencement at Mount Desert Island Regional High School.

Dov J. Manski, son of Shira Singer and David Manski of Bar Harbor, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2003. He will attend the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.

He has a passion for music, particularly jazz, and enjoys playing in a combo. He has traveled to Italy, France and Israel and hopes to study music abroad.

Meghan Frederick, daughter of Marie Langlois and Paul Frederick of Lamoine, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2003. She will attend Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass.

She has been involved in numerous activities and clubs, including diving, track, drama, jazz band, peer mediation and student leadership, and she spent three weeks in Ecuador. She hopes to combine her love of dance with her new interest in Latin American culture.
