Ellsworth native Louis Luchini on Saturday became the fourth Stanford athlete to win the 10,000 -meter run at the Pacific-10 Track and Field Championships in the last five years.

Luchini ran the race in 29 minutes, 13.28 seconds to finish 4.72 seconds ahead of Oregon’s Jason Hartmann. This is the second straight year a Cardinal has won the event. Stanford was third in the men’s meet with 47 points Saturday. Oregon is first with 65.
