BANGOR – The Penquis Community Action Program Resource Development Center is offering six hours of training to child-care professionals in “Talking About Differences: Promoting Tolerance Using Children’s Books” from 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays, May 28 and June 4, at Penquis CAP at 262 Harlow St.

The training uses children’s books as tools for having meaningful conversations about differences. Each participant will receive 12 books and a curriculum guide that includes related activities.

The training was developed by the Maine Humanities Council and is funded by a grant from Verizon.

The registration fee is $10. Current child-care providers may apply to the Resource Development Center’s Scholarship Fund for reimbursement of the fee. Call 941-2840 to register or for more information.
