BANGOR – Bangor Mall general manager Bruce Soper retired last week after two years on the job, according to a mall official.

Soper joined the mall’s executive staff in August 2000, and his last day was Friday, May 16. He could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

Beth Angstrom, the mall’s current marketing manager, has taken the position of interim general manager during the search for Soper’s permanent replacement.

Angstrom could not be reached for comment. Administrative assistant Casey Hardwick confirmed Angstrom had been named interim manager.

The general manager is responsible for overseeing the operation of the mall’s 75 active shops.
