ORONO – Freshman Dylan Huckestein’s two-out single to center field in the bottom of the eighth inning Tuesday scored Kyle Spinney to lift Orono to a 5-4 high school baseball victory over Foxcroft Academy.

Spinney hit a two-run home run in the fourth while Ryan Levesque had a two-run double and a single and Sam Kelley had two singles for Orono.

Josh Withee tripled, singled and drove in two runs, Danny White had three singles, Matt Carey and Caleb Pelletier doubled and singled, and Ethan Annis singled twice for Foxcroft Academy.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, senior Josh Heath pitched a strong 5 1/3 innings and helped his own cause with two singles as the Rams won.

Heath struck out seven and walked only one. Jordan Heath stroked a two-run single in the fourth for the Rams.

Justin Nichols paced Nokomis of Newport with a triple and two singles. Alex Sawyer rapped a double and two singles. Josh Vile doubled and singled.

At Winkin Complex in Bangor, Kevin McAvoy’s two-run double keyed a seven-run fifth inning as the Witches took control of the game and went on to beat the Crusaders.

Matt Sargent and T.J. Davis had two singles each for Brewer behind Andrew Patterson, who pitched a four-hitter.

Alex Means doubled for John Bapst.

Erika Veinote doubled for Hampden and Jillian Yarmartino and Emily Thompson each had a RBI on a fielder’s choice.
