Are reader-friendly libraries passe or overly meticulous?
I frequent the Buck Memorial Library in Bucksport. The trustees banned tutoring in the reading room a year ago. However, a student and teacher were allowed full oral expression recently.
Is loudness and shrill talking de rigueur in public libraries, an echo of the general deterioration of society, or is such exclusive to Buck Memorial Library? Culture and good manners seem to be waning priorities in today’s world. Are the proletariats dominating over propriety and cultivation?
