Cyr’s double powers Owls

MADAWASKA – Gil Cyr laced an RBI double in the seventh inning, his third hit of the game, to give Madawaska a 7-6 schoolboy baseball win over Fort Fairfield Thursday.

Cyr also had an RBI triple and a single. Billy Roy slammed a solo homer to go with an RBI double and a single, and Steve Guerrette and Andre Roy added two singles each.

Kris Osgood and Robert McNamee had a single each for the Tigers.

At Hodgdon, Bruce Currie knocked in four runs with a double and a single as the Hawks blanked the Eagles.

Chris McAtee laced a two-run double for the winners and Derek Nickerson had a double and a single.

Andrew Kirchner doubled for Limestone.

At Caribou, Ryan Rogers singled three times and doubled as the Vikings squeaked past Fort Kent.

Griffin St. Peter had two singles for the winners, as did Justin Selfridge. Andrew Cashman added a double.

Jared Boucher and Gib Michaud had two singles each for the Warriors.

At Washburn, Jeff Clockedile doubled, singled and drove in two runs to lead the Panthers of Mars Hill.

Eric Martinez chipped in with two singles and two RBIs for the winners and R.J. Richardson singled twice.

Seth Milton notched two singles for Washburn and Lucas Hafford tripled.

At Dyer Brook, Corey Shields came on in the fourth inning and pitched scoreless, 10-strikeout relief and Corey Edkins and Jared Grant had two-run doubles as Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook triumphed.

Evan Boutilier had two singles and scored three times for Southern Aroostook.

Chris Irish doubled and singled for East Grand of Danforth and Josh Rollins had a two-run double.

At Van Buren, Dustin Cyr had three doubles and a single and drove in two runs and Tyler Hews had a double, three singles and an RBI as Van Buren won its fourth straight.

Andy Martin contributed two doubles and three RBIs and Matthew Gagnon doubled and singled and knocked in three.

Sean Violette and Hews teamed up on a five-hitter, striking out nine and walking one.

Jeremy Baker’s two singles and Buck Pineau’s two-run single led Ashland.

At Presque Isle Wednesday, Chris Parsons singled twice and knocked in three runs as the Wildcats rolled.

Matt Carvell laced a two-run double for Presque Isle. Adam Swanson tripled, Chad Lavway hit two singles and Tim Lyford added two more.

Justin Henderson notched a single and a double for the Shiretowners and Jared Sylva singled twice.

At Washburn, Kari Howe’s three-run homer, which followed winning pitcher Nicole McLaughlin’s RBI double, keyed a five-run first inning that erased a 3-0 deficit and sent Washburn on its way to victory.

Howe also had a single. Liza Maynard and Kristi Carter had two singles and three RBIs apiece and McLaughlin doubled and singled.

Brittany Lundeen tripled and singled and drove in four runs for Central Aroostook of Mars Hill and Megan DeGraw had an RBI single.

K.C. Duffy-Stanley hit three singles and two doubles for Katahdin of Sherman Station. Brandi Violette laced two singles, a double and plated three.
