DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Department of Transportation tentatively plans to begin the West Main Street road reconstruction, along with the Guilford Road reconstruction from Sebec Shores to Guilford, in the late fall of 2003 through the summer of 2004.

Town Manager Owen Pratt told selectmen recently that the entire sidewalk from Foxcroft Academy’s first entrance to the shopping center needs to be reconstructed and realigned with the expected new pavement grade. The section of road to be done this summer by the DOT will be a major paving rehabilitation project.

The DOT plans to apply six inches of foam-injected asphalt and three inches of new hot top will be done in two applications for a total of nine inches of new pavement, he said.
