LINCOLN – Jaide Littlefield hit a three-run triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Mattanawcook Academy a 9-7 softball victory over Lee Academy Friday.

Arikka Knights added two singles and an RBI for Mattanawcook while Amanda DiCenso helped out with a two-run single.

Liz Read led Lee with three singles and three RBIs while Marci Moors contributed with two singles, a triple and an RBI.

Greenville sweeps Averill

At Greenville, the Lakers won both games of a doubleheader against Averill, winning the first 20-5 and taking the second 18-2.

In the first game, Amber Lavigne hit a double and two singles while Darla Larsen had a single and a double for Greenville. Skylar Towle and Kelly Bolen added two singles apiece.

Danielle Gowen and Mary Battle each hit a single for Averill.

In the second game, Lavigne hit a double and a single while Laura Blair added two singles for the Lakers.

Lisa Savery had a double for Averill of Hinkley.

Penquis sweeps Piscataquis

At Guilford, Dani Graves pitched a one-hitter, allowing one run and no walks while striking out four to give Penquis the 10-1 win in the first game. The Patriots took the second game 16-9.

In the first game, Erika Morrill tripled and doubled with a RBI for Penquis. Michelle Mulherin had two singles and Heather Dolley had a RBI double.

Teddie Galuski hit a double in the second inning for Piscataquis.

In the second game, Graves hit a double and three singles with four RBIs for Penquis. Mulherin had a triple and a pair of singles and Jean Hamlin doubled to knock in two runs.

Pam Bailey hit two doubles with a RBI for PCHS and Heather Woodbury had a triple and a single. Galuski tripled and Natasha Bailey hit a two-run single.

At Howland, Matt Osborne drove home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to give Penobscot Valley the come-from-behind win.

Jake Crosby, Cody Thompson, and Andrew Hallett each had a RBI single for PVHS.

Dave Chrisos hit two singles with a RBI for Bangor Christian. D.J. McCleary had a pair of singles and Willy Hinkley had a RBI single.

At Lincoln, Tyler Libbey and Steven Whitney each hit RBI singles in the fifth inning to help power Mattanawcook Academy to the win.

Tyler Gardner contributed with a double.

Nate Dow hit a single and a double for Lee Academy while Andrew Stevens added an RBI single.

At Machias, Machias’ Todd Stevens drove Scott Brokaw home with the game-winning run by tripling in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Stevens gave up only two earned runs, four hits, and four walks while striking out 10 batters for Machias. He also hit a two-run homer, tripled, and had two singles. Ed St. Pierre and Brokaw each had two singles and Nate Poore hit a RBI single.

Corey Colbeth had a double and single for Washington Academy of East Machias and Mike Marzoll doubled.

At Belfast, John Ellis had a double, two singles and four RBIs to help lead Belfast to the win.

Josh Gallant had three RBIs on three singles while Jesse Johnson hit two homes for two RBIs. Nick Arthers added a solo home run while Matt Welch and Paul Herman chipped in with two singles apiece.

Wade Oliver led the Rockland effort with a solo home run and a two-run double.
