Sonya L. Mitchell of Trenton has been promoted to vice president of Dirigo Investments, Inc., and will oversee operations for the Ellsworth and Bangor offices. She joined the firm in 2000 after working for Peoples Heritage Bank for 10 years. She works out of the Ellsworth office as a licensed investment consultant.

Corie Howie of Bar Harbor has been appointed operations manager for the Island Explorer project at Downeast Transportation Inc. Howie worked for three seasons in virtually every position from driver to shift supervisor. For the past year, she has worked as a school bus driver at Laidlaw in Orland.

Maine Public Broadcasting has hired Robin Howard of Bangor as an application support specialist. Howard will respond to software and systems requests as well as perform diagnosis and maintenance on both business and broadcast software. Howard received her associate’s degree in computer information systems from University College of Bangor.

HORIZONS Health Services has named Michelle Boucher of Caribou and Alan Turnbull of New Sweden as health service managers for the company.

Boucher will serve in the Washburn Regional Health Center and Central Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She has been HORIZONS’ patient services coordinator for the past five months and was previously the business manager for Aroostook Home Health Services. Boucher received her associate’s degree in accounting from Husson College in Bangor.

Turnbull will work at the Limestone and Fort Fairfield health centers. Most recently, he served as information systems coordinator for HORIZONS. Before joining the company, he was an operations supervisor at the Caribou Nursing Home.

Services provided at the centers include routine physical examinations, office surgical procedures, family planning, referrals and blood pressure screenings.
