HAMPDEN – Honor parts have been announced for the Class of 2003 at Hampden Academy. Commencement exercises will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the Skehan Center, Hampden Academy.
Jarred Brown, son of Jean Camuso and Eric Brown of Hampden, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2003. He will attend Harvard University in the fall.
He has participated on the mock trial team, has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years, and was a member of the chess and math clubs. Throughout his four years, he has participated in soccer and indoor and outdoor track.
Mary Abbott “Abby” Samp, daughter of Cushing and Frederick Samp of Hampden, has been named the salutatorian for the Class of 2003. She will attend McGill University in the fall.
She has been a member of the leadership team, civil rights team, the mock trial team, and has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years and participated in cross-country and spring track. She attended a leadership conference at Loughborough University in England and has volunteered at Maine Discovery Museum and the Special Olympics.
