MACHIAS – Machias Memorial High School plans a special graduation ceremony for seven former students who left without graduating to enter the armed forces during World War II and the Korean War.

The students will be awarded their diplomas at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Rose M. Gaffney Elementary School gym. Members and former teachers of the 1942, 1943, 1945, 1946, 1953 and 1956 classes, as well as area veterans, are invited to attend.

Those who will accept diplomas are to be escorted into the gym by an honor guard from United Veterans of Washington County.
