Bapst squads batter Bangor

BANGOR – Joe Baillargeon had a home run for the John Bapst baseball team and the Crusaders scored two runs on a Bangor error in a four-run fourth inning en route to a 5-4 upset victory over the Rams Wednesday in high school action at Mansfield Stadium.

Baillargeon added a single and John Bapst of Bangor pitcher Cole McElwain fired a four hitter.

Nate Hall had a double and a single and Nick Larochelle drove in a run with a double.

At Brewer, Andrew Patterson scattered three hits over seven innings, and added a double and a single to lead the Witches past the Eagles.

Matt Sargent hit three singles and had an RBI for Brewer. Zac Bouzan-Kaloustian racked up an RBI double and a single, Josh Caldwell hit an RBI single and a double, Joe Caron had a two-run double and Sean Collins contributed an RBI single.

Garrett Hardison, Asa Jones and Ray Hanf each singled.

At Dexter, Tyler Gardner’s RBI on a fielder’s choice in the fifth helped lift the Lynx of Lincoln past the Tigers.

Gardner also hit an RBI single in the third. Andy McLellan singled twice and Tom Lasko doubled.

Adam Russell led Dexter with a two-run double in the third. Kyle Stone added an RBI single. The Tigers had the bases loaded in the seventh but MA ended it on a double play.

At Lee, Jeremy Ham struck out 13 batters while allowing only 1 earned run and four hits to help the Pandas to the win.

Jason Mallett led the Lee Academy offense with two singles, three RBIs and two stolen bases while Andrews Stevens added an RBI single.

Garrett Lavertu hit an Rbi double for Penobscot Valley while Cody Thompson chipped in with a triple.

At Guilford, Foxcroft’s Josh Withee pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out nine batters and walking only two to shut down Piscataquis.

Adam Conway had two singles and two RBIs for the Ponies while Mitch Sawyer hit an RBI double. Etahn Annis and Caleb Pelletier helped out with an RBI single apiece.

Tyler Tracy singled for the Pirates.

At Millinocket, Harrison Hines’ two-run triple and Mark Clapp’s two-run single keyed a six-run second-inning rally that gave the Eagles of Blue Hill its second win in three days over the Minutemen of Millinocket.

GSA beat Stearns 6-1 on Monday. Josh Gott pitched a five-hitter, striking out five and walking two.

Adam Cousins had a triple, two singles and an RBI for the Eagles. Hines had a single to go with his triple and knocked in three and Clapp had two singles and two RBIs.

Craig Cullen’s RBI double and brother Nick Cullen’s RBI single led Stearns.

At Danforth, Chris Irish scored the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh when he walked, stole second and third, and came home on a passed ball for the Vikings.

East Grand’s Ryan Fish scored on a Micah Barnes groundout earlier in the inning to tie the game. Fish finished with two doubles, two singles and four RBIs. Josh Rollins hit a two-run double in the third and Irish singled twice.

Jeremy Gillespie paced the Dragons with three singles, a double and two RBIs. Chad Pike hit a double and a single

At Union Street Athletic Complex in Bangor, Heather Laferriere laced a two-run single in the top of the third to propel the Crusaders to the win.

Julia Sleeper hit an RBI single for John Bapst of Bangor and Rebecca Stevens doubled and singled.

Meghan Chase knocked two singles for the Rams and Kate Turner tripled.

At Dexter, Amanda Pullen, Ashley Foster, Daphne Robichaud and Sabrina Cote had run-scoring singles in the second inning and that’s all the run production Sarah Carnes was to need.

Carnes scattered six hits, striking out five and walking one.

Pullen and Cote had three singles and two RBIs apiece and Foster had two singles and two RBIs.

Jaide Littlefield and Brooke Leighton had two singles each for Mattanawcook of Lincoln.

Searsport, Schenck split

At Searsport, Beth Chasse’s RBI single in the 10th inning lifted the Wolverines to a 6-5 victory in the second game of a doubleheader. The Vikings won the opener 8-1.

In the first game, Sheila Wilbur hit a triple, a double and a single with one RBI to lead Searsport. Nicole Shute added a triple, a single and an RBI and Sarah Cook singled twice and drove in one run. TaraLee Webster struck out six in the four-hitter.

Chasse singled twice for Schenck of East Millinocket.

In the second game, Ashley Peabody drove in two runs on two singles for the winners.

Meagan Brassbridge and Lindsey Seekins each doubled twice for Searsport.

Tessa Grindle doubled and singled for the winners and Nikki Boutin singled twice.

Hilary Arsenault doubled and singled and knocked in a run for Stearns. Holly Franck singled twice and had an RBI and Leslie Osborne singled twice.

At Thomaston, Brea Little tripled, singled and drove in two runs as the Buccaneers cruised past the Tigers.

Rachel Campbell tripled and singled for Georges Valley. Megan Watts, who scattered five hits in the win, hit two singles.

Ella Coffern led Jay with a double, a single and two RBIs.
