Quimby started in Scouting in 1992 as a Tiger Cub, crossing over into Boy Scouts in 1997. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in 1998. He earned 35 merit badges as a Boy Scout.

For his Eagle project, Quimby built storage shelves at the new Center Drive School in Orrington.
