Fort Kent – Ashley Pelletier doubled, singled and drove in a run as the Fort Kent softball team edged Wisdom 10-8 Wednesday in high school action.
Ashley Desjardins laced two doubles and knocked in a run for Fort Kent. Melissa Morneault hit two singles, and Megan Minzy singled twice and plated a run.
Heather Anderson had three singles and an RBI to lead Wisdom of St. Agatha.

At Limestone, Ruthie Arato knocked in three runs on two doubles and a triple as the Tigers rolled.
Brooke McCrum tallied two RBIs on a triple and a single for Fort Fairfield. Maranda Butler doubled, singled and drove in a run, while Courtney Burns singled twice and added an RBI.
Ashley Posey led the Eagles with three RBIs on a triple and a single. Emily O’Neal singled twice.

At Washburn, Kari Howe hit a double and two singles for two RBIs to help lead Washburn.
Amber Blakney and Nicole McLaughlin had two singles and two RBIs apiece while Stephanie Burtt added a single and two RBIs.
Sarah Jago led the Houlton Christian effort with three singles and an RBI while Kia Faulkner and Danielle Kelly each hit a single.

Ashland sweeps Cen. Aroostook
At Ashland, the Hornets racked up 50 runs in two games to sting the Panthers 23-11 in the opener and 27-7 in the second game.
In the first game, Cora Campbell slammed a solo homer finished with six RBIs. Beth Chamberlain doubled, singled and knocked in a pair for Ashland, and Danielle Long had two singles and three RBIs.
Andi Long tripled and plated two to lead Central Aroostook of Mars Hill and Alicia Rideout singled twice.
In the second game, Pam Spooner crushed a pair of homers to go with a triple and eight RBIs. Chamberlain doubled and singled three times, knocking in three, giving her five in the two games. Lindsey Long added three singles and four RBIs.
Stevi Fletcher led Central Aroostook with three singles and two RBIs and Sami Brewer tripled.

At Van Buren, Casey Caron hit a two-run home run to help give Van Buren the edge they needed to defeat Madawaska.
Megan Ouellette and Danielle Cyr contributed with a triple and a single apiece.
Sarah Nadeau led the Madawaska effort with a home run and two singles while Danielle Daigle added a double and a single.

At Van Buren, Dustin Cyr’s RBI double in the sixth helped propel the Crusaders past the Owls.
Tyler Hews scattered three hits in the win for Van Buren.
Peter Gerard took the loss despite giving up one hit and striking out 11. Steve Guerrette, Billy Roy and Adam Roy each singled for Madawaska.

At Ashland, Bryan Grew scattered four hits over five innings and struck out five as the Panthers shut down the Hornets.
Eric Martinez led Central Aroostook of Mars Hill with four RBIs on a double and a single, including a three-run double in the third. Kyle Larrabee tripled, singled and drove in a run. Jeff Clockedile singled twice.
Daren Hunter, Buck Pineau, Matt Saucier and Spencer Perry each singled for Ashland.

At Fort Kent, the Warriors took advantage of 14 walks as they rolled over the Pioneers of St. Agatha.
Jared Boucher led Fort Kent’s offense with a solo homer in the third. Tyler Marquis singled twice and had two RBIs and Gib Michaud added a two-run single.
Brad Thibeault smacked a two-run homer in the fourth for Wisdom. Jeff Paradis singled twice.

At Limestone, Aaron Kenneson pitched a two-run, two-hit game while striking out 18 batters to help lead Fort Fairfield to the win.

Brian O’Neal and Jarid Hendrickson led the Limestone effort with two doubles.

At Danforth, Chris Irish scored the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh when he walked, stole second and third, and came home on a passed ball for the Vikings.
East Grand’s Ryan Fish scored on a Micah Barnes groundout earlier in the inning to tie the game. Fish finished with two doubles, two singles and four RBIs. Josh Rollins hit a two-run double in the third and Irish singled twice.
