Woman, 48, arrested after Rockland crash

ROCKLAND – A local woman was arrested this week for driving under the influence of intoxicants and was summoned for possession of marijuana, following a motor vehicle accident on Limerock Street.

Deianalynn Ranney, 48, of Rockland was not injured in the crash. She is suspected of having been under the influence of drugs when she lost control of her 1997 Oldsmobile sedan at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Deputy Police Chief Wallace Tower said.

Ranney’s vehicle, which was traveling west on Limerock Street, went off the right side of the road, hit a culvert, wiped out four mailboxes and came to rest in another culvert, Tower said, noting the vehicle went 275 feet while out of control.

Damage was estimated at $1,200 to the Oldsmobile, and $250 to other property, Tower said. There were no passengers in the vehicle, he said, noting the incident was investigated by Officer Andrew Reynolds.
