Maine native singer-songwriter Kate Schrock is the final guest performer in the Brewer Youth Theatre Spring Concert Series at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Brewer Middle School, 7 Somerset St.
Brewer Middle School coordinator Rich Kimball believes area residents will want to see and hear Schrock, who recently has received “a lot of national attention” for her work, he said.
“Her music contains elements of rock, jazz, blues and folk, and her brand-new CD, ‘Indiana,’ is getting great reviews,” he said.
According to her Web site, Schrock has “shared the stage with legendary artists such as Stephen Stills, Taj Mahal, Sophie B. Hawkins, Wayne Kramer and Mick Taylor of The Rolling Stones.”
“All seats are $10 each,” Kimball said, “and tickets are available at The Grasshopper Shop in Bangor, Brewer Middle School and at the door.”

Bailey reports the fund-raising committee has close to the $12,000 needed to repair the organ, which consists of 1,200 pipes.
“It will be a busy day here,” on Saturday, he added, “with lots of activity, because it’s also our church cleanup day. We’ll have people scrubbing inside and picking up outside. It should be a nice community event.”

“This is our one big fund-raiser for the year,” she wrote, “so we hope to get lots of business. After a long winter and a rainy spring, this should be just the thing to raise people’s spirits!”

This popular event features lobster salad and fresh strawberry shortcake, and you can eat in or take it out.
