BANGOR – One or more burglars at the First Assembly of God Church on the Finson Road caused more than $200 in damage at a club building located behind the church Tuesday.

The incident occurred between 2 and 10 p.m., according to a police report by Bangor Officer Michael Brennan.

A man dropping off an item at the church reported the burglary to police. According to police reports, the back door was forced open. Cabinets and boxes near the back door were rifled through and paint was sprayed on the floor and wall. It appears paint cans were thrown around inside the building, the report said.

Those responsible may have sat around a table smoking cigarettes and drinking iced tea.

A motion sensor light on the front of the building and a clock above the front doors were broken. A lighter was used to burn the ends of some rope and the bottom of an iced tea can.

There were no suspects Wednesday night.
