TRENTON – The Learning in Community Arts mentorship program of the Maine Alliance for Arts Education will hold its third annual celebration for students and their mentors from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Trenton Grange. The event is free and open to the public.

LINC-Arts brings together high school students from Hancock County with mentors who work in art-related fields. Each student has spent a minimum of 20 hours with his or her arts mentor over the last school year.

The celebration will include performances, presentations, and exhibits, as well as refreshments.

This year, 13 student-mentor pairs were involved in the program. The pairs are as follows: From Mount Desert Regional High School, writing student Jeremy Cline with mentor Candice Stover, and pottery student Leah Joy with mentor Carole Beal. From Sumner Memorial High School, movie review student George Schaefer with mentor Chris Smith, journalism student Caroline Fickett with mentor Kristen Andresen, and jewelry student Margaret Barter with mentor Melissa Bullard.

From Ellsworth High School, drama student Allison Chamberland with mentor Kenneth Stack, photography student Mary Jones with mentor Tammy Packie, and trombone student Will Stecher with mentor John Haley. From George Stevens Academy, painting student Tyler Weeks with mentor Robert Shetterly, and writing student Mica Whatne with mentor Weslea Sidon. From Deer Isle-Stonington High School, drama student Emily Hill with mentor Judith Jerome, pottery student Ryan Billings with mentor Tanya Dunham Taylor, and an unnamed jewelry student with mentor J. Fred Woell.
