Bereavement program gets dance proceeds

ELLSWORTH – Hospice of Hancock County’s Caring Hearts Bereavement Program received $3,560 in proceeds from the annual Father & Daughter Dance held Feb. 16.

Xi Alpha Chi, a local sorority, organizes the dance each year and contributes the proceeds to a local nonprofit organization that offers services to children and teens in Hancock communities.

The money will provide Hospice of Hancock County with items needed for support groups open to all grieving children, teens and their families. Items will include stuffed animals, art and craft supplies, bereavement books and educational materials, journals and therapeutic toys.

Hospice of Hancock County is dedicated to providing care to individuals in the last months of life and their families. The Caring Hearts Bereavement Program offers support for adults, children and teens after a death from illness, accident or suicide. All services are free of charge.
